GoPro rolls out trio of Hero action cameras

PanARMENIAN.Net - GoPro has expanded its action camera range with the launch of three new snappers - the GoPro Hero4 Black, the GoPro Hero4 Silver, and the GoPro Hero, Digital Spy said.

The Hero4 Black Edition spearheads the line with 4K video capabilities, while the Silver models sport touch displays and the Hero serves as an entry-level device.

The firm describes the flagship model as its "most advanced" snapper to date, offering a processor and frame rates that are twice as fast as previous offerings.

It is capable of capturing photographs at 12-megapixels and 30fps, while video recording is at 4K30 or 1080p120.

Waterproof up to 40m, the Hero4 Black Edition includes WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, night photo and night lapse modes, HiLight Tag, a wide-angle field of vision via Superview, an auto low-light mode, and high performance audio recording.

A special 'music' edition of the camera will also be available. This will be identical to the standard version, but comes bundled with special mounts for attaching it to musical instruments, turntables, mic stands, and other equipment.

The GoPro Hero4 Silver Edition, which comes with many of the same features as the range-topper, is the company's first snapper with a built-in touchscreen display.

It comes with a maximum shooting resolution of 1080p60 or 720p120 for video, but has the same photographic capabilities as the Black Edition. A 'music' version of this device will also be available.

The Hero bridges the gap between the previous-gen Hero 3 range and the new Hero 4 line, shooting video in 1080p30 and 720p60, and 5-megapixel photos at 5fps.

This snapper offers the same rugged build as its siblings and is waterproof up to 40m, but does not have a removable battery.
