Radius acquires “Heaven Knows What” ahead of NY Fest premiere

PanARMENIAN.Net - Radius has acquired the U.S. rights to “Heaven Knows What” one day ahead of its New York Film Festival Premiere on Thursday, Oct 2, according to TheWrap.

The film follows a young heroin addict who finds love in New York City. The script is based on Arielle Holmes soon-to-be-published memoir, “Mad Love in New York City,” and co-stars Arielle Holmes and Caleb Landry Jones (“X-Men: First Class”).

“‘Heaven Knows What’ is a benchmark in American cinema,” said Radius Co-Presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego in a statement to TheWrap. ”We were completely entranced with the story and mesmerized by the characters. Josh and Benny have made a complex, sophisticated, mind-blowing film that we feel privileged to bring to audiences.”

The film is a co-production between Iconoclast Films (“Spring Breakers”) and Elara Pictures. Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie wrote the screenplay, while Charles-Marie Anthonioz, Mourad Belkeddar, Jean Duhamel and Nicolas Lhermitte serve as executive producers.

Radius has targeted a second quarter 2015 release. The deal was negotiated by Quinn and Janego with ICM Partners on behalf of the filmmakers.
