Jeremy Renner teases possible “Bourne” crossover with Matt Damon

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jeremy Renner comments on Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass' comeback to "Bourne" franchise. Renner teases what to expect from the saga now that the original Jason Bourne is back while his character Aaron Cross is still pretty much alive, AceShowbiz said.

"They made it more exciting when Paul and Matt got back into the mix, and finally cracked a story idea for them to come back into it," Renner gushed to The Daily Beast. "I think they'll be separate movies, and then the idea is for us to either team up, or be adversaries."

"I love the idea of Greengrass and Damon," he said in a different chat with The Huffington Post, "or whatever it might be, let them be adversaries, let them become buddies, whatever the heck it might be, them coming together would be a pretty tremendous thing."

"I think it really opens up the world and it keeps Bourne's character active," Renner continued. "I think Cross' character is already going to continue to be active. I think it will take creatives to bring them together, which is what I think is ultimately the plan."

Renner replaced Damon as the "Bourne" lead actor in 2012's "The Bourne Legacy". A sequel starring Renner was initially planned for July 16, 2016, but the date is now reportedly locked for the new movie starring Damon. Renner is expected to return in a separate film at a later date.

Although his Bourne film gets delayed, Renner will remain busy as ever. He will next reprise his role as Hawkeye in "Avengers: Age of Ultron", return as an ally for Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt in "Mission: Impossible V", and could reprise his role in "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 2". There are also rumblings that he will be involved in "Captain America 3".
