PanARMENIAN.Net - Gal Gadot's star-meter is rising. The actress who has been attached as Wonder Woman is reportedly circling the female lead role in Paramount and MGM's "Ben-Hur" remake, AceShowbiz said.

According to THR, Gadot is being eyed to fill in the role of Esther, a slave with whom the titular character is in love. In the 1959 film, Esther was facing an arranged marriage but remained devoted to Ben-Hur for years.

"Ben-Hur" tells the story of a falsely accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him. Both must come to choose between retribution or forgiveness.

Jack Huston is already tapped to play Ben-Hur, starring opposite Toby Kebbell as his betrayer Messala. Morgan Freeman is also on board as Ben-Hur's mentor Ildarin.

The script was written by Keith Clarke and rewritten by John Ridley. Timur Bekmambetov is directing the movie which starts shooting in Europe next year. The pic will be released in February 2016.
