Google Nexus 9 tablet "as powerful as a 2012 Mac Pro," test suggestsOctober 18, 2014 - 13:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Google Nexus 9 tablet performs roughly on par with a 2012 Mac Pro, the results of a recent benchmarking test suggest, according to Digital Spy. HTC's Android slate scored 1,903 in Geekbench's assessment, while the previous-generation Apple computer was pegged at 1,925. The results appear to indicate that the 64-bit tablet is also close to the latest MacBook Air in terms of performance, with the laptop scoring just over 2,000. This is quite a feat for the Nexus 9, given that the Mac Pro line is geared towards professionals with high power needs - but with a Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and Kepler DX11 graphics chip on board, it doesn't come as a surprise. Google unveiled the Nexus 9 earlier this week, alongside the Motorola-designed Nexus 6 phablet and its latest mobile operating system, Android Lollipop. The new devices will be available on Google Play in the coming weeks. Photo: Google Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
