Neil Gaiman teases slate of “Vertigo” comic book filmsOctober 20, 2014 - 14:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Neil Gaiman has seemingly hinted that a "slate" of Vertigo comic book films are in the works, according to Digital Spy said. The writer assured a fan on Tumblr that the adaptation of his classic series The Sandman is still in the works. The movie was not listed as part of Warner Bros' recently unveiled DC Comics film schedule. "It's not a DC Comics film," said Gaiman. "It's a Vertigo film. That's a different slate of films, and a different announcement." Vertigo is the creator-owned imprint of DC Comics, and the home of popular series including American Vampire, Fables, Hellblazer, Transmetropolitan, The Unwritten and Y: The Last Man. A television series based on Sandman spinoff Lucifer is in the works. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in line to produce and direct The Sandman.
