Dropbox updates iOS app, adds support for Touch ID

Dropbox updates iOS app, adds support for Touch ID

PanARMENIAN.Net - Popular file-sharing / file-syncing app Dropbox has updated its iOS app to version 3.5, with some improvements, 9to5mac reports.

The app now takes advantage of all available resolution on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, rather than in a scaled iPhone 5s form. Dropbox doesn’t do anything novel with the additional space, but there is benefits to being able to see more items in a folder list at a time. The quality of file previews are also noticeably improved because of the additional screen size, with photo viewing mostly affected, 9to5mac says.

Furthermore, the app adds support for Touch ID on supported devices, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This means the users can lock access to the app down using a fingerprint if some additional security for that app alone is wanted. The app falls back to the usual PIN lock if Touch ID fails.

The update includes other ‘general improvements and fixes’ as well. Dropbox for iOS is available free on the App Store.
