Dyson launches air humidifier that kills bacteria with UV lightOctober 20, 2014 - 18:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Dyson has launched its first air humidifier, a high-tech device that uses ultraviolet light to kill germs, according to Digital Spy. Thanks to the inclusion of the company's Air Multiplier technology, the hardware is said to wipe out 99.9% of all water-based bacteria while performing its duties. Developed by Dyson's Japanese arm, the humidifier is designed to add moisture to the air during the winter months and double as a cooler in the summer. "Humidifiers are a way to create a more hygienic environment at home," said James Dyson. "Using patented UV light technology our humidifier kills 99.9% of bacteria in the machine before projecting hydrated mist evenly throughout the room." said Dyson in a statement. Other techy features include an intelligent control system that measures air temperature and moisture to create the perfect environment for up to 18 hours, and a piezoelectric transducer, which vibrates up to 1.7 million times a second to break water down into microscopic particles. The Dyson humidifier will be released next March, with pricing yet to be announced. Top stories Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT).
