Horror master Eli Roth’s "Cabin Fever" gets remake

PanARMENIAN.Net - It was announced on Monday, October 20 that horror flick "Cabin Fever" is getting a remake. The new film will have the 2002 film's director and writer Eli Roth on board as executive producer, AceShowbiz said.

The project is on a fast track with shooting scheduled to begin in Portland, Oregon this week. It will use the same exact script that Roth wrote together with Randy Pearlstein for the 2002 movie. The original film followed a group of college graduates who went on a vacation in a remote cabin and started getting sick from flesh-eating virus. The original film was made on a low budget but grossed $21 million domestically and spawned two sequels in 2009 and 2014.

The new version will see Travis Zariwny in the director's seat. "Travis had an amazing vision for my original script, and as a scary movie fan I really wanted to see it. I almost see this like re-staging a play, and I'm excited to see what ideas Travis and the cast bring to it. They're all fans of the original and want to make a film that's a new classic and I believe they will," said Roth.

"Cabin Fever (2015)" will star Gage Golightly, Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis, Matthew Daddario and Nadine Crocker. Roth will exec produce with Cassian Elwes, Ike and Jaclyn Ann Suri, and Peter Fruchtman. A "dedicated to" title will be included at the end of the film for the late Susan Jackson who executive produced the original.
