Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant to star in

PanARMENIAN.Net - Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant are attached to star in "Florence". She will play the title role in a movie about the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York socialite and heiress who pursued her big dream to become an opera singer despite her poor singing skills, AceShowbiz said.

Meanwhile, Grant is cast to portray Florence's live-in partner and manager, the English actor St. Clair Bayfield. He was trying to protect and shelter her from truth as she was firmly convinced of her greatness. It proved challenging when she decided to perform live at Carnegie Hall.

Stephen Frears who helmed Oscar-nominated drama "Philomena" will serve behind the lens for "Florence" scripted by Nicholas Martin. The helmer is expected to get it started after finishing an untitled Lance Armstrong movie.
