PanARMENIAN.Net - Director James Franco has hired writers for his Tommy Wiseau movie, as “The Fault In Our Stars” screenwriters Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber are set to adapt “The Disaster Artist” for Rabbit Bandini Productions, Point Grey and Good Universe, TheWrap has learned.

Neustadter and Weber had been in negotiations for several months and just recently closed a deal to write the script.

Franco is set to direct the film and star as infamous European filmmaker Tommy Wiseau, who directed the cult classic “The Room.” Dave Franco is attached to star as actor Greg Sestero, who wrote “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room” with journalist Tom Bissell.

“The Room” was originally released in 2003 and has since been celebrated as the greatest bad movie ever made. “The Disaster Artist” details Sestero's involvement in the making of the film.

Franco's production company Rabbit Bandini is producing alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s Point Grey banner and Good Universe, whose Erin Westerman will oversee the project for the company.

“Neustadter and Weber are the perfect writers to join the filmmaking gang we have over here with Seth Rogen, et all. They have the perfect tone for this funny, but heartfelt story about trying to make your dreams come true,” said James Franco.

Neustadter and Weber recently adapted John Green's beloved book “The Fault In Our Stars” and the author's upcoming film “Paper Towns.” They previously teamed on “(500) Days of Summer” and the indie hit “The Spectacular Now.”

Rabbit Bandini is currently producing Franco's “Zeroville,” in which he stars alongside Seth Rogen, Megan Fox, Joey King, Jacki Weaver, Dave Franco, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson.

Point Grey is currently prepping the Franco-Rogen comedy “The Interview” for a Christmas Day release. It recently wrapped an untitled Christmas movie starring Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie, as well as the raunchy animated feature “Sausage Party.”

Good Universe is a leading motion picture production and global sales company. Founded by Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane in the spring of 2012, Good Universe recently produced Rogen's “Neighbors” and CBS Films’ comedy “Last Vegas.” The company also teamed with Point Grey on Jonathan Levine's untitled Christmas movie, which Sony will release next year.
