ALEXAN HARUTYUNYAN NEW CHAIRMAN OF PUBLIC TV AND RADIO BOARD

PanARMENIAN.Net - Alexan Harutiunian, former advisor to President Robert Kocharian was elected the chairman of the Public Television and Radio Board, on Wednesday.



On January 7, President Robert Kocharian signed a decree about early termination of duties of Ashot Manukian as member of the Public Television and Radio Company Board.



The same day, President Kocharian signed a decree to appoint Alexan Harutyunian and Vardan Kopian members of the Public Television and Radio Company Board.



With another presidential decree signed on the same day, Alexan Harutyunian has been relieved of his duties as President's Advisor in view of his being appointed to another position.



Alexan Harutiunian is a Yerevan State University graduate. In 1991 he held the position of the Haylur news program director. In 1993-1996 Harutiunian worked for the Armenian Embassy in France. Since November 1999 he was an advisor to President Kocharian.



The other newly-appointed member of the Board, Vardan Kopian, is a economist and lawyer who has been working for the Presidential staff since 1998.
