Lars von Trier says worried won’t be able to make movies when sober

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lars von Trier addresses his drug and alcohol addiction. The "Nymphomaniac" director says he is now trying to get sober by seeking treatment for his problem, but he is worried he can't make movies anymore if he is not working under the influence, AceShowbiz reports.

The Danish helmer says he used to drink a bottle of vodka everyday and take "narcotics" to help him enter "parallel world" and get his creative juice flowing. "I can't recommend anyone to do the same. It is very dangerous and stupid in every way," he tells Politiken.

"I don't know if I can make any more films, and that worries me," he says. "There is no creative expression of artistic value that has ever been produced by ex-drunkards and ex-drug-addicts. Who the hell would bother with a Rolling Stones without booze or with a Jimi Hendrix without heroin?"
