“Sherlock Holmes”’ nemesis Andrew Scott “to star as “Bond 24” villain”

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Bond 24" apparently has found its villain in Andrew Scott. As AceShowbiz reports citing The Mirror, the actor who plays Sherlock Holmes' nemesis James Moriarty on "Sherlock" is set to take the role opposite Daniel Craig who returns to the new upcoming movie as James Bond.

"Andrew was hand-picked for a role in the new 'Bond' movie after film bosses loved his star turn in 'Sherlock'. Casting directors thought he was perfect to play a baddie and they wanted to use his existing Sherlock profile - and amp it up to the next level," an insider said. "Andrew is hoping the move will see him leap from TV to the big screen, where he can eventually divide his time between London and L.A. He knows this is his big break."

Scott's casting rumor is not the only report emerging ahead of an official announcement on Thursday, November 4. According to Deadline, Monica Bellucci who starred in "The Passion of the Christ" and "The Matrix: Reloaded" "may be in the mix."

The official announcement of the title and cast is set to take place at Pinewood Studios and livestream at 3 A.M. PT / 6 A.M. ET / 11 A.M. GMT. In addition to Craig, Ben Whishaw is expected to return as Q, Ralph Fiennes to play M and Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny. Directed by Sam Mendes, the action flick will hit U.S. theaters on November 6, 2015.
