Jennifer Lawrence scores first-ever top hit in U.S.

PanARMENIAN.Net - Jennifer Lawrence has scored her first ever Top 20 hit in the U.S., according to Digital Spy.

The actress recorded 'The Hanging Tree' with James Newton Howard and The Lumineers for her latest film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

Following its use in a prominent scene in the latest franchise instalment, substantial digital sales of the track have seen it climb to number 12 on the Hot 100 in the U.S. this week.

So far the song has peaked at number one on iTunes in 37 countries, while appearing inside the Top 10 in 70 iTunes stores across the world.

Due to its success it has now been added to the digital version of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, as well as featuring on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 Original Motion Picture Score.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift spends a third week at number one on the Hot 100 with latest single 'Blank Space'.

Meghan Trainor is at two with 'All About That Bass', while Hozier's 'Take Me To Church' remains at three.

Elsewhere, Selena Gomez jumps up to six with 'The Heart Wants What It Wants', and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars are at eight with new single 'Uptown Funk!'.
