Coldplay working on “colorful and uplifting” albumDecember 10, 2014 - 11:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Coldplay have said they're "trying to make something colorful and uplifting" for their next album, Digital Spy reports. Speaking to Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, Chris Martin dropped further hints about what the band are planning for their seventh album. "You know Harry Potter and things have installments, and you know we just made an introspective record and didn't really do much around it. Secretly we may have something else in mind, but I accidentally told Zane [Lowe] about it," said Martin. The frontman previously revealed that the band were working on the follow-up to Ghost Stories, and that the album would be called A Head Full of Dreams. Martin told Whiley that the band had thought of the seven-album concept "about two years ago". "We're trying to make something colorful and uplifting and we're just having quite a good time making it because we've spent so long not making that kind of thing," he added. Martin responded to a question about making a follow-up record that was louder and with more "bombast" by saying: "Not bombast, I think it would be fun to shuffle your feet a bit." He went on to reveal that the band already have songs for the new record, explaining: "We know what the name of it is and that's about it, and some of the songs." Drummer Will Champion added: "We've got a big year planned next year in terms of recording, it's all mapped out."
