Dr. Dre tops Forbes'2014 World's Highest-Paid Musicians list

PanARMENIAN.Net - After dominating Forbes' Hip-Hop Cash Kings list a few months ago, it should come as little surprise Dr. Dre tops the magazine's 2014 World's Highest-Paid Musicians list as well -- beating out Beyonce by half a billion dollars, Billboard reported.

Dre's massive $620 million figure is the highest amount by a musician ever. That's thanks to the recent sale of Beats, which he co-founded, to Apple for $3 billion.

Beyoncé's $115 million that puts her at second place is, of course, nothing to scoff at either. It's the singer's most lucrative year to date, courtesy of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour, surprise album drop and endorsements that included Pepsi and H&M.

The Eagles follow with $100 million with help from their ongoing History Of The Eagles tour; Bon Jovi earned $82 million with the final laps of their Because We Can Tour that grossed about $250 million in all; and Bruce Springsteen closes the top 5 with $81 million, as he continues to tour with the E Street Band at more than $4 million per night.

In forming its top 30 list, Forbes considered income from touring, music sales, publishing, merchandise, endorsements and various other ventures based on the June 2013-June 2014 fiscal year. Britney Spears, Avicii, Kanye West, Madonna, Macklemore, David Guetta, Lil Wayne, Tiesto and Birdman all missed the list but were named as close-calls.
