Microsoft announces date for Windows 10 event

PanARMENIAN.Net - Microsoft has announced the date for a Windows 10 event, Digital Spy reveals.

The company has sent out invitations to members of the press December 11 for "the next chapter", which will take place in Redmond on January 21.

Microsoft is expected to show off more consumer-focused features this time round, with details of how Windows 10 will run on smartphones and tablets.

With the attendance of CEO Satya Nadella, Windows chief Terry Myerson, Xbox head Phil Spencer, and Joe Belfiore - who is responsible for the design and software product definition of forthcoming generations of Windows Phone - the event looks set to reveal some major details about the operating system.

Windows 10 was first unveiled at a small event in September, where it was revealed that the largely-expected Windows 9 name would be skipped.

Designed to work across multiple platforms, Windows 10 combines enterprise functionality with consumer features.

A Technical Preview Programme has already been launched, while a full release of Windows 10 is not expected until late 2015.
