Springfield confirmed on Twitter that he has shot scenes with Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams for the HBO crime drama. "Just finished my 1st day of shooting for season 2 of HBO's True Detective. What a great script. Working w/ Colin Farrell & Rachel McAdams," he tweeted. It is not clear who Springfield will be playing in True Detective. Springfield is best known for releasing the 1980s pop hits 'Jessie's Girl' and 'Affair of the Heart', in addition to starring in U.S. soap opera General Hospital as fan-favourite character Dr Noah Drake. Writer Nic Pizzolatto's series will return next year with an all-new ensemble cast led by Farrell, McAdams, Vince Vaughn and Kelly Reilly. True Detective's new run will centre on a conspiracy bringing together a California sheriff (McAdams), a corrupt detective (Farrell) and a career criminal (Vaughn) in the wake of a murder.
