Google Now “to add Nest thermostat controls”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google is on the verge of bringing Nest thermostat controls to its Google Now service, a report suggests, according to Digital Spy.

The news broke when Droid Life discovered that telling the Siri rival to 'set Nest to x degrees' will result in it attempting to do so.

However, as the feature is in development and yet to be announced, Google Now currently lacks the authorisation to interact with Nest.

Google has been working to add Google Now functionality to the smart heating system with its 'Works with Nest' initiative, and the report hints that its introduction may be imminent.

The web giant acquired smart appliance maker Nest Labs in January this year, in a deal worth $3.2 billion.

Nest was founded by former Apple bosses Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers in 2010.
