LG rolls out 4K Ultra HD LCD TVs with 'Quantum Dot' technology

PanARMENIAN.Net - LG has revealed a new line of 4K Ultra HD LCD televisions with 'Quantum Dot' technology on board, according to Digital Spy.

The advanced display tech will offer a wider colour palette and improved colour saturation, according to the South Korean firm.

The TVs have a film of nano-sized crystals, which emit different shades depending on their size, laid over the LCD backlight to improve colour reproduction by 30%.

LG also claims that the technology will improve the set's overall brightness.

"Quantum Dot's vibrant and vivid colour reproduction capabilities brings LG's LCD TVs to the next level when it comes to picture quality," said LG TV chief In-kyu Lee.

LG will showcase 55-inch and 65-inch models of its 'Quantum Dot' televisions at CES 2015 next month, which takes place in Las Vegas between January 6 and 9.
