PanARMENIAN.Net - LG has confirmed that it will launch a new iteration of its webOS television platform at the Consumer Electronics Show next month, according to Digital Spy.

The next-generation webOS 2.0 will sport a simpler and more intuitive user interface, according to the South Korean company.

It will also include more 4K content from services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix, with reduced boot times and faster navigation.

"By updating webOS with new and smarter features, users will experience a next-generation Smart TV platform that's simpler, easier and more intuitive than ever before," LG executive In-kyu Lee said in a statement.

"The webOS 2.0 platform is another example of LG's commitment to taking a leadership role in the next generation TV market with an innovative Smart TV solution."

LG will showcase the software alongside numerous TV sets at CES, including its 4K Ultra HD LCD televisions with 'Quantum Dot' technology.

CES 2015 takes place in Las Vegas between January 6 and January 9.
