PanARMENIAN.Net - Showtime announced return dates for "Penny Dreadful" and "Nurse Jackie" at the TCA's winter press tour on Monday, January 12. The second season of the psychosexual horror series will premiere Sunday, April 26 at 10 P.M., while the seventh and last season of the medical comedy-drama series will debut Sunday, April 12 at 9 P.M., AceShowbiz reports.

To hype up the anticipation, the network has released trailers for both shows. The preview for "Penny Dreadful" sophomore season hints at something in the past that haunts Vanessa Ives (Eva Green), and sees Madame Kali (Helen McCrory) bathing in blood.

"Last season, our heroes were hunters. This season, they're hunted," said series creator John Logan. Spiritualist Evelyn Poole/Madame Kali will be the main villain this season as Logan said, "This season she becomes the antagonist for not only Vanessa but for all the characters."

The "Nurse Jackie" trailer, meanwhile, teases how the title character played by Edie Falco struggles to get back her job as a nurse after getting caught using drugs again. Showrunner Clyde Phillips said he doesn't believe in happy endings, but promised an "authentic" ending for the show.

Also at the TCA's press tour, Showtime announced that it picked up "Happyish" starring Steve Coogan to series. Initially set as a starring vehicle for the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, the comedy is scheduled to kick off its 10-episode first season on April 26 at 9:30 P.M.

Good news also came for "Shameless", which just debuted its fifth season last Sunday. The show has been renewed for a 12-episode sixth season. "The viewer loyalty and critical acclaim over the last five seasons has made Shameless one of our signature series," said Nevins. "This incredible collection of writers and actors have created a show truly unique in the television landscape."
