Panasonic GF7 compact system camera targets selfie enthusiasts

PanARMENIAN.Net - Panasonic has added a new compact system camera to its range in the form of the GF7, Digital Spy reports.

The snapper will replace the GF6 in the middle of the company's product line, although its predecessor will remain on sale as a cheaper alternative.

The Panasonic GF7 has a more angular design than the GF6 and includes similar specs, with the addition of a hands-free selfie mode as its headline feature.

This can be activated by flipping up the LCD screen, and built-in WiFi support enables users to capture shots remotely from their mobile device.

Aimed at novices, the camera features a 16-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor, with a high-speed 240fps sensor readout boosting its auto-focus time.

The GF7 records 1080p video at up to 50fps in either the AVCHD or MP4 formats, and also offers Time Lapse and Stop Motion shooting modes.

Software features include Soft Skin, Defocusing and Slimming modes for selfies, and 22 Creative Control options for applying effects to regular photographs.

The Panasonic GF7 will be available in silver and brown colour options in March.
