Benedict Cumberbatch in “The Imitation Game” trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Benedict Cumberbatch enlists Keira Knightley to help him win World War II, in the latest trailer for The Weinstein Company’s “The Imitation Game”, TheWrap said.

The drama, which has been nominated for eight Oscars, follows the story of British cryptologist Alan Turing, the mathematician who solved the Nazis’ Enigma code to help the Allies intercept messages and end the war. Ultimately, Turing would be convicted of indecency for being a gay man, which was illegal in Britain at the time, leading to his suicide.

In the newest trailer, Cumberbatch’s Turing attempts to keep two secrets at once: His work, and his personal life, which could get him in trouble with the very people he’s working so hard for.

“The Imitation Game’s” Oscar nominations include Best Picture, Best Director for Morten Tyldum, Best Actor for Cumberbatch and Best Supporting Actress for Knightley.

The film has been a major awards contender since it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, where it won the Audience Award, considered a major precursor on the road to Oscar success.

“The Imitation Game” is now playing in theaters.
