Beck’s “Morning Phase” album sales soar by 1,000% after Grammys win

PanARMENIAN.Net - Beck has experienced a massive surge in sales of his latest album after its success at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 8), Digital Spy reports.

The singer-songwriter won Album of the Year for Morning Phase at the 57th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, fending off tough competition from Beyoncé and Sam Smith.

Sales of the record have surged by 1,342% on digital retailer Amazon UK following the win.

What's more, Sam Smith has also seen sales of his debut album In the Lonely Hour more than triple, which has contributed to his placing at number one on the UK midweek chart.

Beck's win for Album of the Year was nearly interrupted by Kanye West at the ceremony, who humorously attempted a stage invasion before smiling and walking off.

However, Beck later admitted that he enjoyed the stunt. "I was just so excited he was coming up," he said.

"He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody... How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"

Morning Phase is Beck's 12th studio album and peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 and number four in the UK.
