Netflix to premiere Jamie Dornan's war thriller “Jadotville”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Netflix will premiere Jamie Dornan's war thriller Jadotville, Digital Spy reports.

The Fifty Shades of Grey actor will star alongside Guillaume Canet in the Richie Smyth-directed film.

The streaming service will make Jadotville available in all territories in 2016, after acquiring the film at the Berlin Film Festival.

The film is based on the 1961 siege of 150 UN Irish troops, led by Dornan's character, in the Congo after the murder of leader Patrice Lumumba by pro-western leader Moise Tshombe.

Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, said: "The story of how Pat Quinlan led his troops against an overwhelming force without losing a single man is one of the great stories of the 20th century, and we are proud to be working with such a talented and committed team to bring it to life.

"This film will be an amazing addition to our global original films initiative."

Production on Jadotville will begin in Ireland and South Africa in April.
