“Lost” alum joins Adam Sandler in “Ridiculous 6” Netflix comedy

PanARMENIAN.Net - “Lost” alum Jorge Garcia has signed on to join Adam Sandler in Netflix’s comedic western “The Ridiculous 6,” the Happy Madison production that is gearing up start production in Santa Fe, New Mexico, TheWrap reports.

“We are pleased to have the Happy Madison team back in New Mexico and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship,” stated Nick Maniatis, director of the New Mexico Film Office. Insiders tell TheWrap that Sandler will play man who grew up as an orphan among an Indian tribe, while Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson, Terry Crews and Garcia will play his half-brothers. Nick Nolte will co-star as Sandler’s long-lost father.

The production, which goes through May 1, will employ at least 200 New Mexico crew members and 250 New Mexico actors and local background talent.

“Santa Fe could not be be more excited about Adam’s upcoming film project. We are open for film business and with a skilled workforce we have what it takes to make this film a success,” said Mayor Javier M. Gonzales.

Frank Coraci (“The Wedding Singer”) is directing from a script that Tim Herlihy co-wrote with Sandler, who is producing along with Allen Covert. Happy Madison’s Heather Parry and Barry Bernardi are executive producing the film, which will debut exclusively on Netflix in all territories.

The rest of the cast is expected to include Happy Madison regulars Steve Buscemi, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice, as well as “The Voice” judge Blake Shelton, comedian Whitney Cummings, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, “Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Parnell and “Breaking Bad’s” Lavell Crawford, as TheWrap first reported.

Garcia recurs on “Hawaii Five-0″ and recently co-starred alongside Kevin Hart and Josh Gad in “The Wedding Ringer.”
