Kristen Bell joins Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage in “Michelle Darnell”February 19, 2015 - 12:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Kristen Bell has joined Melissa McCarthy and Peter Dinklage in the Universal comedy “Michelle Darnell”, Variety reports. The script, which is based on an original character created by McCarthy, will be penned by Ben Falcone, McCarthy and Steve Mallory. Falcone is directing. The story follows a titan of industry who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget. Bell will play a single mother and Darnell’s former assistant. Falcone and McCarthy are also producing through their On the Day Productions, along with Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and their Gary Sanchez Productions. Senior VP of production Erik Baiers and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal. Gary Sanchez’s Chris Henchy will also produce, and Kevin Messick will serve as executive producer. The film has been slated for April 8, 2016. Bell continues to star in the Showtime dramedy “House of Lies” opposite Don Cheadle and also recently starred in a film adaptation of her popular TV show “Veronica Mars” and lent her voice to the Disney animated hit “Frozen.” She also continues to be very active in her philanthropic work that includes efforts with the This Bar Saves Lives group that has resulted in the donation of more than 350,000 packets of life-saving food to children in need since 2013.
