The trailer opens with the first child narrating about Cam who was diagnosed with manic depressive in the '70s. He and Maggie met one day and she married him despite his eccentric behavior. Midway through the trailer, Cam is seen chasing his wife's car while professing his love. "That was so embarrassing," the girl says. The trailer also sees Cam struggling with chores. "If you're not gonna do the dishes, then I am doing it," his second daughter says after seeing a mountain of dirty plates on the sink. "Infinitely Polar Bear", written and directed by Maya Forbes, is inspired by the filmmaker's own father. It is set for release in the U.S. on June 19. "I wanted to show that a person's not defined by their mental illness, that's just a part of them," Forbes said at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival, as quoted by Independent. "We were on the same page," she added, referring to the "Foxcatcher" star. "We wanted it to be real but we wanted it to be funny and we wanted it to be sad. We wanted the whole range of life."
