Nicolas Cage joins Oliver Stone-directed "The Snowden Files"February 24, 2015 - 11:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Nicolas Cage has joined Oliver Stone-directed "The Snowden Files". The "Knowing" actor is set to play a former U.S. Intelligence Official in the thriller, joining other cast members which include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Zachary Quinto and Melissa Leo among others. As AceShowbiz reports citing Variety, the project is currently filming in Munich. The movie will be based on two books, "Time of the Octopus" by Snowden's lawyer in Russia, Anatoly Kucherena, and "The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man" by Guardian journalist Luke Harding. Gordon-Levitt portrays the NSA leaker while Woodley plays his on-screen girlfriend. "Citizenfour", a documentary about Snowden by director Laura Poitras, won Best Documentary trophy at the Sunday, February 22 Oscars. At the event, host Neil Patrick Harris joked that Snowden "couldn't be here for some treason."
