Hacker makes Google's Android Wear sync with iPhone

PanARMENIAN.Net - Google's Android Wear operating system has been shown syncing with an iPhone, albeit unofficially, Digital Spy reports.

Hacker MohammadAG used a coding technique to push alerts from the handset's Notification Centre Service to a Moto 360 smartwatch.

The software developer made compatibility possible by creating an .apk file, which he plans to release to the public.

Since Apple's Notification Centre is built directly into iOS, MohammadAG did not need to download an additional app to get the devices to sync.

However, Android Wear functionality is limited to notifications, and an Android smartphone is still required to download apps and configure the smartwatch.

Google has previously revealed ambitions to bring Android Wear compatibility to iOS, but there has been no official announcement about when this might happen.
