Pebble announces popular smartwatch successor Pebble TimeFebruary 25, 2015 - 14:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Pebble has announced the Pebble Time, the successor to its popular smartwatch, Digital Spy reports. The new wearable will feature a colour e-paper display, rather than the black and white e-ink screen of its crowd-funded predecessor. The Pebble Time will also add a built-in microphone so users can respond to notifications from their wrist, as well as a 'timeline' interface that places notifications, news, reminders and events in one place. Despite its display upgrade, the smartwatch is said to offer the same seven-day battery life as its e-ink predecessor, while measuring in 20% thinner at 9.5mm. It will also retain the water resistance and customisability of the original Pebble Watch, with additional straps, covers and docks set to be available at launch. Pebble has returned to Kickstarter to fund the Pebble Time, after breaking records on the platform with its previous watch, and is seeking $500,000 to get the project off the ground. The Pebble Time will be compatible with all 6,500-plus existing Pebble apps and watch faces when it launches in May.
