“Murmur of the Hearts” to open Hong Kong Int’l Film FestivalFebruary 26, 2015 - 17:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Hong Kong International Film Festival will open next month with the world premiere screening of Sylvia Chang’s “Murmur of the Hearts” with the rarely seen Isabella Leong in the starring role, Variety reports. The festival will close with Philip Yung’s crime drama “Port of Call,” starring Aaron Kwok. Tsui Hark’s “The Taking of Tiger Mountain 3D,” which was a huge hit in mainland China at the end of 2014, will play as the film accompanying the festival’s awards gala. The 39th edition runs March 23 to April 6 and will include retrospectives of work by Chang, Roy Andersson, and Paul Clipson, as well as tributes to three Japanese masters Ogawa Shinsuke, Ichikawa Kon, and Naruse Mikio. Other special sections include a review titled ‘German Cinema Now’ and ‘Young Israeli Cinema.’ The Young Cinema competition includes: “ATA,” by Tibet’s Chakme Rinpoche; “Coffin in the Mountain,” by China’s Xin Yukun; “K,” by Mongolia’s Darhad Erdeni Bulag, and the U.K.’s Emyr ap Richard; “Borderless,” by Iran’s Amirhossein Asgari; “Sworn Virgin,” by Italy’s Laura Bispuri; “Koza,” by Slovakia’s Ivan Ostrochovsky; “Vanishing Point,” by Thailand’s Jakrawal Nilthamrong; and recent Berlin entry “Big Father, Small Father And Other Stories,” by Vietnam’s Phan Dang Di.
