Metronomy, The Horrors among Blur’s Hyde Park comeback supporters

PanARMENIAN.Net - An epic bill of support acts has been revealed for Blur's massive comeback show at British Summer Time in Hyde Park this summer - including Metronomy, The Horrors, Drenge and Roots Manuva, Gigwise reports.

The returning Britpop heroes recently announced that their first album in 12 years, The Magic Whip, will be released in April - and will be celebrating with a huge outdoor gig in London.

Now, it's been revealed that they will be joined on the day across several stages by Metronomy, Drenge, The Horrors, Jupiter & Okwess International, Roots Manuva, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Teleman, Iris Gold, Fufanu and Sugarmen.

Frontman Damon Albarn recently went on record as saying that 2003's Think Tank has "got some real stinkers on it - there's some bollocks on there," before adding that The Magic Whip is a "proper Blur album".

"There was an element of making amends with the guys but the fact [is] that I thought there was good music there and it's a duty to deal with it," he went on.

Blur last played Hyde Park in 2012 as part on London's Olympic celebrations - but now guitarist Graham Coxon thinks their upcoming shows will be 'more intense' as a result of new material.

The band are set to headline Barclaycard presents... British Summer Time Hyde Park on 20 June.
