Orlando Jones joins stellar cast of “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”March 5, 2015 - 12:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - “Sleepy Hollow” star Orlando Jones has joined the cast of “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”, Variety has learned exclusively. Jones joins Jessica Biel, Jason Sudeikis, Maisie Williams and Mary Steenburgen in the drama, which began production in New Orleans this week. Bill Purple will direct the pic from a script he wrote with Robbie Pickering. Justin Timberlake will compose and serve as music supervisor for the soundtrack. Biel is producing with Michelle Purple under their Iron Ocean Films banner. Jones plays Cornelius Thibadeaux aka “Dumbass,” whose unfortunate moniker was bestowed by his strict and disapproving father. Described as an affable and loyal character, Dumbass takes on the seemingly incomprehensible job of helping introverted architect Henry (Sudeikis) build a raft for a spirited, homeless teen named Millie (Williams) to use to sail to a far away island, after Henry’s wife (Biel) is tragically killed in a car accident. Steenburgen plays Henry’s cold, aristocratic mother-in-law. The actor is also developing a project based on cult deprogrammer Ted Patrick with his Drive-By Entertainment partner Noam Dromi. The duo will write the screenplay with plans for Jones to star, and will produce with Tracy Funches. Jones can next be seen in “The Adventures of Beatle” alongside Ever Carradine, Michele Hicks and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
