Paul McCartney announces UK, European tour dates

PanARMENIAN.Net - Paul McCartney has announced a string of UK and European tour dates, which includes a show in the O2 Arena in May, Gigwise reports.

The London O2 Arena show, which will be McCartney’s first gig in the UK since 2012, coincides with the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ ‘Yesterday’. Speaking of this in a statement, McCartney said, "I’m often never aware of these anniversaries until someone points it out. People always say to me ‘Hey, did you know it was 30 years since this and 30 years since that’, so it’s impossible to stay on top of it all."

He continued, "But I never need an excuse to celebrate so it’s always nice to hear! For me it’s a happy coincidence that The O2 show falls at this time.”

The tour also includes dates in Birmingham and Liverpool, before McCartney heads to Europe, with shows in France, Holland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. He’ll also be performing at his first European festival in five years in the form of Denmark’s Roskilde festival.
