"The Vatican Tapes" exorcism movie unveils first trailer (video)

PanARMENIAN.Net - Lionsgate Films has released the first trailer for its "The Vatican Tapes". Making its way out via Yahoo! Movies, the video sees Djimon Hounsou as a priest and Peter Andersson as a cardinal who review films of exorcisms in the Vatican's video archives to find out the devil's master plan, AceShowbiz reports.

They zero in on Angela Holmes (Olivia Dudley), a 27-year-old ordinary girl who begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close to her, causing serious injury and death. The local priest, Father Lozano (Michael Pena), examines Holmes and believes she is possessed.

When Vicar Imani (Hounsou) and Cardinal Bruun (Andersson) are called from the Vatican to exorcise the demon, it proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than they imagined. The three witness the Antichrist which inhabits the girl's body coughing up demon egg, floating and making flames. "Tell them I'm here," the girl creepily says.

Mark Neveldine directed the film with the script provided by Christopher Borrelli. The horror movie will unleash its terror in theaters Stateside starting May 22.
