Facebook adds money sending feature![]() March 19, 2015 - 12:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Facebook has announced a new payment solution which allows users to send money to friends through Facebook Messenger, Digital Spy reports. The feature is rolling out to the U.S. initially over the next few months and aims to give people a more convenient and secure way to send and receive money. Users can send money straight away simply by tapping a new $ icon in a chat session with a friend, entering the amount they want to send and tapping pay before entering their debit card details. The social network has reassured members that the solution is safe, and it has a team of anti-fraud specialists to monitor any suspicious purchase activity. "Incorporating security best practices into our payments business has always been a top priority," the company said in a blog post. "We use secure systems that encrypt the connection between you and Facebook as well as your card information when you ask us to store it for you. We use layers of software and hardware protection that meet the highest industry standards. "These payment systems are kept in a secured environment that is separate from other parts of the Facebook network and that receive additional monitoring and control." Users on Android, iOS and desktop will be able to use the option for free.
