PanARMENIAN.Net - An ancient evil is unleashed in a trailer for The Vatican Tapes, according to Digital Spy.

The horror movie depicts a demonic reckoning, thousands of years in the making, manifesting itself in modern times.

Michael Peña and Djimon Hounsou are two faithful priests who are in a race against time to save one innocent woman (Kathleen Robertson) from becoming a pawn in the Devil's grand plan.

The Vatican Tapes is being brought to the screen by director Mark Neveldine, known for his work with Brian Taylor on Crank and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

The film's international cast also includes My Week with Marilyn actor Dougray Scott and Swiss martial artist Daniel Bernhardt.

The Vatican Tapes opens on May 22 in the US.
