Nearly 2 minutes long, the trailer tells about the struggles that Hailee Steinfeld's character Megan Walsh has to deal with after she decided to start a new 'normal' life as a high school student despite the fact that she's been trained since childhood to be an assassin, AceShowbiz reports. Also being featured in the newly released trailer are Jessica Alba, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sophie Turner. Alba plays Victoria, Megan's former handler and current nemesis, who enlists Turner's Heather to go undercover at the high school and reacquire the runaway. Jackson, meanwhile, portrays Megan's mentor, Hardman. Off action-comedy genre, "Barely Lethal" was written and directed by Kyle Newman. The official trailer for the U.S. market is expected to be released soon in the near future. The upcoming film doesn't have an official release date just yet.
