“Game of Thrones” alum Ed Skrein in “Transporter Refueled” trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Can there be a “Transporter” franchise without Jason Statham? Filmmakers are hoping so, because “Game of Thrones” alum Ed Skrein is taking over the lead role, and the first trailer showing him in action is rather convincing, TheWrap reports.

“The Transporter Refueled” is a reboot offering up brand new adventures for Frank Martin, the freelance courier driver and ass kicker originated by Statham in Luc Besson‘s 2002 “Transporter” film. Statham went on to play the character in two more sequels, but now the baton has been passed.

Skrein’s interpretation of the character appears to hew closely to Statham’s performance, and the ample footage of hand-to-hand combat, explosive car chases and beautiful, scantily clad women seems to offer the same kind of experience for fans of the original trilogy.

Whether the sum of its parts will amount to the makings of a brand new trilogy will be seen when “Transporter Refueled” is released on June 19.
