Instagram unveils new Layout app for building photo collagesMarch 24, 2015 - 11:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Instagram has released a new standalone app that allows users to build photo collages, Digital Spy reports. Layout from Instagram is currently limited to iOS and uses images from the camera roll. Users can create collages with up to nine photos in total, which can be put together into one of ten different collage layouts depending on how many photos are used. From there, it's possible to drag and drop photos into an arrangement of your choice, as well as pinch to zoom, flip, rotate and add mirror effects. An additional feature called Photo Booth lets users capture photos in the moment that will instantly appear in a layout. These can then be shared directly on Instagram or Facebook. "Instagram is really simple and that's what people love about it," Layout's product designer Joshua Dickens told Re/code. "Building [Layout] into the main app would inherently make it more complicated." An Android version is also in development and due to arrive in the next few months.
