The Armenian wrestler easily beat all his opponents in the Championship, advancing to the finals where he scored 8-3 a victory over Andrey Svirid (Ukraine). Prior to that, Frangulyan beat Denis Maximov (Belarus) 5-4, Ahmednabi Gvarzatilov (Azerbaijan) 6-4, and Recep Topal (Turkey) 9-7.
