“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl” Sundance winner unveils 1st trailer

PanARMENIAN.Net - Fox Searchlight released the first trailer for “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”, TheWrap reports.

The film was a breakout hit at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, winning the Grand Jury Prize and the U.S. Dramatic Audience Award.

It follows an awkward high schooler named Greg (Thomas Mann) who befriends Rachel (Olivia Cooke), a girl in his class who was diagnosed with leukemia.

In the trailer, we see Greg’s parents coaxing him into talking to Rachel after news of her diagnosis gets out. What starts as a forced encounter soon blossoms into a friendship.

Things get more complicated when Greg and his friend Earl (Ronald Cyler II) decide to use their amateur filmmaking skills to make a movie for Rachel. Greg finds himself torn between his self-imposed social isolation and the feelings he is developing for Rachel, in spite of her illness.
