“Terminator Genisys” trailer reveals shocking twist

PanARMENIAN.Net - The newly released "Terminator Genisys" trailer includes a big spoiler that may disappoint some fans. The video reveals that [SPOILER ALERT!] Jason Clarke's John Connor is a human-cyborg hybrid who works for Skynet and is now fighting against his own mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), AceShowbiz reports.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Jason Clarke says the plot twist "takes it from a typical machine chasing the good guys to giving it a bit more complexity within the same realm." He says of his character, "Technology has become more and more engrained inside of us and John becomes the ultimate realization of that."

"He's full of possibilities now that he's not fully machine, not fully human. He's something else," the actor further teases. "He's still evolving. There are still surprises as to what exactly John is ultimately. Is he controllable or not? He's the last throw of the dice by Skynet and he is something that is a lot more than we've ever seen but nobody really knows just where it can go."

To those who don't like the bad John twist, he says, "Just hang on. Don't turn off too soon or you'll miss the ride-literally, you know. Just bear with it. It does pay off."

In "Terminator Genisys", Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) is sent back by John Connor to the past with a mission to save his mother Sarah Connor from a robot programmed to kill her, but what Kyle finds on the other side is not what he expected. The timeline when he was sent back to the past no longer exists, prompting a new mission and a new fate.

Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the original cyborg, and J.K. Simmons joins the cast as Detective O'Brien. Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World") serves as the director for this rebooted franchise.

Paramount Pictures sets July 1 as a U.S. release date for the action movie.
