Huawei rolls out flagship device Ascend P8 at London event

PanARMENIAN.Net - Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled its newest flagship at an event in London on April 16, Digital Spy reports.

The Ascend P8, following on from the P7, offers top-end specifications for a wallet-friendly price.

The device measures just 6.4mm thick and comes with a full HD 5.2-inch screen. It's powered by an octa-core 64-bit Kirin 930 processor and 3GB RAM.

The smartphone will come running Android 5.0 Lollipop and contains 16GB on-board storage, which is expandable via MicroSD.

Despite being so thin, Huawei managed to pack in 4G, a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

The device comes in Mystic Champagne, Titanium Grey, Gold and Carbon Black.

There are two models available, either standard or premium, costing $533 and $637 respectively.

Along with the 5.2-inch model, Huawei also announced the larger Ascend P8 Max.

The phablet-sized device boasts a gigantic 6.8-inch screen and a quoted two-and-a-half-day battery life.

The Huawei Ascend P8 Max will cost around $150 more than the standard device.

A release date is yet to be confirmed.
