Russell Brand joins “Borat” helmer’s “Army of One” comedyApril 17, 2015 - 13:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russell Brand has joined Nicolas Cage in the comedy “Army of One” with Larry Charles (“Borat”) directing, according to Variety. Denis O’Hare, Ken Marino, Paul Scheer, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Rainn Wilson have also come on board. Endgame Entertainment and Conde Nast Entertainment are the production companies. Cage and Charles became attached in January with Bob and Harvey Weinstein’s TWC-Dimension acquiring North American rights. The script was written by Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph and is loosely based on a GQ article by Chris Heath about Gary Faulkner, an ex-con who made 11 attempts to travel to the most volatile region of Pakistan to capture Osama bin Laden, armed with only a sword. Producers are Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler of Conde Nast Entertainment, James D. Stern of Endgame Entertainment and Emile Gladstone. FilmNation is handling international sales.
