Samsung ditches corporate logo for Galaxy S6 Japanese launchApril 20, 2015 - 16:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Samsung has ditched its corporate logo for the Japanese launch of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones, Digtal Spy reports. The new handsets will not include the Samsung branding in the Asian territory, where they will be co-marketed with local carrier partners. Both devices will bear only the Galaxy logo on the rear and be branded as the 'Docomo Galaxy' or 'au Galaxy' on the front, depending on the operator. "We think the Galaxy brand has been well established in Japan," a Samsung spokesperson told The Korea Herald. Samsung has struggled to establish itself as a major player in the Japanese smartphone market, where it sells fewer handsets than Fujitsu and Sharp. Over in the West, however, reports suggest that retailers are struggling to meet the demand the Galaxy S6 and 6S Edge have garnered.
