Acer to take on Nivida with gaming tablet

PanARMENIAN.Net - Acer wants to become a major player in PC gaming and offered Digital Spy a glimpse at its future plans for the sector during its press conference in New York this week, the entertainment news agency reports.

The Taiwanese firm revealed several new additions to its Predator range of gaming hardware, and the standout product was a fully-fledged Android gaming tablet touted as a rival to the Nvidia Shield.

Acer is keeping its cards close to its chest for now, but the firm did reveal that the Predator tablet provides haptic feedback, shaking in your hands as you play, and includes four front-facing speakers.

Other new gaming products include 15 and 17-inch Predator laptops and a Predator desktop, all of which pack "the latest processors and graphics cards".

There was also a 35-inch, 21:9 curved gaming monitor that supports N-Vidia's G-Sync and DTS audio on show, which promises to offer an immersive gaming experience.

Nvidia's new Predator hardware will start hitting the market in the third quarter of 2015, with the laptops spilling over into the fourth.

The gaming machines were among 40 new products Acer announced during its mammoth press conference, where wearables, smartphones, and hybrid devices also broke cover.
